Hi again, it's Danny, lol,
Just wondering if poppies will self pollinate? I never really have it much thought, but I just today found a really exciting surprise (at least for me! Lol) in my back fence garden. A single, but full size poppy, I thought they had all perished. After searching the entire yard, I do have a few, but this is. The lone survivor in that area.
I was actually weeding (for once lol) when I suddenly noticed the head of the dragon! :-) that's what I call them lol, the emerging buds remind me of a dragon head bursting from the tight cluster of leaves, so there ya go!
I just wanted to know if it will self pollinate so that I ,ay have some seeds for next year. These white poppies have been beautiful in my container, although dwarfed in size of course.
Thanks for any input, as always I appreciate it. I included a pic of a lonely flower in my container, not the actual plant this ones on as it is raining outside now. But it should give you the idea of what I'm asking.

Just pretend it is the only flower of its type in a packed garden, lol ;-)

I figure as long as bees or other insects crawl around in there, it should pollinate itself, right?
Thanks again,
Danny
