Aloha Everyone,

Jeanne - so sorry to hear of your troubles, my thoughts are with you and I hope the doctors find out what is going on SOON!

Belle, I am glad to hear that your foot is getting better although it is at a slow pace - it sounds as if you had fun in LV.

Nothing much going on here. The winter visitors are starting to trickle in so the streets and stores are getting busier - you have to get to Safeways by 8am at the latest to buy a doughnut before they are all gone!

Our other winter visitors (the whales) are about to come in - 2 have been sighted already in our channel waters. We look forward to their arrival every year and I never get tired of watching for them as we look out to sea.

We had a tsunami warning a couple of days ago (this is the third in two and a half years) luckily it amounted to a five foot wave in Kahalui harbor and there was no damage reported. People are still taking the warnings seriously even after three non events, and my neighborhood was full of people in cars waiting it out. I am at about 400 feet above sea level so we are a safe haven for all the folks in Kihei which is in the flood zone. We had a house full!

I am going to try to find the you tube video that you watched Pu'ole because my lopers and shears are so blunt that I have to clench my jaws in order to make them cut - it seems to help somehow!

The avocado and citrus are just starting to ripen up now and we just had three hands of bananas to deal with all at the same time. Our hands weigh roughly 50 60 lbs each - its a lot of fruit! This week I hate even the smell of a banana...all taken care of now between friends, the dehydrator and banana bread, but there are a couple more that are begining to look suspiciously rounded and have a yellowish look to them down in the garden! With bananas its always feast or famine...

The mango trees are still dropping leaves - too bad they don't all drop at once, it would be so much easier than having to go over the same ground day by day! I am on a first name basis with the guys down at the green waste yard. Onward and upward...I will win the war in the end!

Love to all,

Jenn
