The first flush of flowers were smaller than previous years flowers but, the plant was fine and the color was great(as usual) I fertilized her and c. Alhena each with a shovel full of dried sheep Frisbees, Alfalfa pellet tea...phweeee! and some Kelp I am trying this year. Last year I cut Julia back too far and she just sat till winter and as I say she has small flowers so, I made note not to cut the pruning group 3 clematis back any more than total dead head and reduce no more than 1/3rd.I also have another Julia C out in my evergreen garden and it ambles over a Staked up weeping Juniper. It never riots I think that's because the Evergreens are not heavily fed but it looks just fine. Lee
