Thanks Allison for breaking the news, and thank you everyone for the hugs and your thoughts. As much as we prepared ourselfs for this over the last year, it is still very difficult. This dog survived an accicent that should of killed him and Brian hand feed him until his jaw healed well enough to eat on his own again. He carried him in and out of the house until he could walk on all 4's again. Then when Brian had his 7 surgeries and was bedridden for 2 - 3 weeks at a time.....Jake stayed by his side 21 -22 hours every day. He left his side long enough to eat, drink, stretch his muscles and do his duties. He was one of the most loyal dogs we have ever owned. My big burly husband bawled like a baby when it came time to say good-bye, as did I.
Joshua left the house when we headed to the vets for that dreaded last visit.....we haven't seen or heard from him since. He's 24 and has to deal with this his way he said....Jake has been here half of Josh's life. If you can spare a minute, say a little prayer for him, im a little concerned he hasn't contacted me yet.
