Being conservative with energy and posting this in several places. Because I feel badly--and because I can. :D

It is chilly (41 degrees) and raining here, today. I am still in pjs with coffee cooling fast. Answered a Craigslist for what was described as a "sweet little Lhasa" and the one photo looked like a fishbowl-effect Lhasa. Get all the way over from the east side of Dallas to north of Fort Worth to find he is a big ol' Bassett Hound in a Lhasa overcoat. Given the circumstances of why he was being given away, I took him home hoping it would be fine. And it ain't. Not that he is mean or vicious. He is just BIG, about 45 pounds and easily four foot from nose to tail tip. My two are 10 and 18 pounds, respectively and the littlest one has a leg injury where he stepped on it during a "get away from me, you big lug" dispute. So now the search is on from ME to find him a good home. He was kenneled most of the time at his previous place and NO WAY am I letting him go back to that. Poor baby was mincing around his big ole...um, poor little feetsies like he'd never touched the ground before. You should see him now chasing the middle dog around the house, out the back door, through the yard, and back around again playing tag. He is polite and quiet aside from the pecking order squabbles. He is just too BIG and not what I was looking for...sigh...my own doing for not asking more questions...sigh... :/

BUT, I am posting in this thread because I am thankful to have removed him from being kenneled all day AND at night. I know some dogs need a little confinement, but dadgum! 10-12 hours during the day, let him out for a few hours, then put him back in all night? Unh-uh, no wayno. He and my Willie made themselves comfortable while I was in the shower and I didn't have the heart to make them get off.
