This hawk showed up late this afternoon as I was feeding the bluebirds. He perched in a gum tree about 100 feet away and I had a great view. He stayed there for 24 minutes and I got almost 200 pretty good shots of him. (Hand held with the Mark 3 and 500mm f/4, no less).

Here is a question for Resin and any other hawk experts. Notice he has a bulge in the lower neck area. Also, he seems to have blood on his feet. Is this bulge a hernia, or does this mean he just had supper?
