I want to place it so it grows into an evergreen. Currently, I have an autumn clematis growing in a giant holly. Every fall after the bloom, I tear the vines out, and trim it down to the ground. It regrows every year just as big. I have have researched the climbing aster, but there is not a lot of information about pruning the plant after bloom. I am guessing, I could treat it as I do any other aster, cut down to the ground after bloom dies off, but I am not sure at all. I live in Southern NJ, in zone 7. I have rich acidic soil, and the plant would be in full sun Does anyone have this plant? Any suggestions about pruning? Thanks! Melissa |
