I posted this on the attendance list, too but we are from Ben Wheeler and had a lot of damage from the tornado/storms Tuesday night and I don't think I'll be able to make it. We had 2 HUGE ones pass directly over our house and although our house is OK (and we are, too) we have property damage and LOTS of clean up. It pulled 150 year old oak trees up, ripped the tops out of several, broke some in half and DEBRIS everywhere. It even sucked some of my plants away. My son and I were home alone and with the probablity of rain on Sunday I just want to be HOME! I will be at the East Texas Round Up (weather permitting) and I wish all of you a grand time. This is a photo taken from my back porch at 4:00 pm of the double tornado just before it began rotating, A friend who lives about 1 mile behind us watched this split just before our house. We are BLESSED but feel so sad for those who lost everything. We moved here in September to be close to DH's work because he's loosing his eye sight and I can tell you we were brought here by Gods hands. As soon as the tornado passed neighbors were running in the pouring rain door to door checking on everyone. No one could get out from the many HUGE trees laying in the roads and within minutes they had tractors out pushing trees off the road and helping those hurt or in need. It was an amazing night - both terrifying and a richness of blessing. It reinforces the fact that there are good people in this world. The local volunteer fire fighters were out in minutes going door to door making sure everyone was OK. Anyway, I hope to see some of you in East Texas soon and I hope you all have a wonderful day.
