I had the same problem untill I discovered th Earth-Kind Roses.
I have all of them , and they are no fuss, no pests, no diseases, no need water, no care roses and they are studied mostly for our TX climate.

In the picture below is CALDWELL PINK (my favorite, second is Belinda's Dream). This is fron last year. Not in bloom yet. Also in the fall the leaves turn red.
