Have gone the expensive buy eggs, try to hatch an failed two or three times; this year I decided to go another route and just buy a mix of breeds. Hatchery guarantees at least 5 varieties. Today they arrived and are beautiful.

These are standard breds. I would have loved to get bantams who would have met egg color desire but am not sure there is such a thing; any way would have had to either use eggs or gone the mixed sex route and I can not bear to kill my males. So just decided to forget bantams!

Just wanted to share my excitement with some who understand what it is like.
