Do you know how hard it is to capture a shot of the Northern Flicker? He comes here every morning a little after 8 and he only tried twice this morning, the first time I scared him, the second time the darn Starlings did. I think he has given up and gone somewhere else. I thought thea rb wp was hard to get, but he comes more often now. I am thinking of trying to put a piece of board on the back of the suet cake and entice the pileated wp down here, don't know if it will work, but going to give it a try. The Starlings and the squirrels are still around and they pretty well clean things up. Here is Sweetheart giving a Starling what for. He is saying this is MY suet cake, go find your own!
