Good shots, Hack. I called in the Pileateds with my iPhone. I have iBird Pro on it and it has calls for all the birds in the guide. I pulled up in a deserted campground and heard a Pileated in the distance, so I tethered my phone to the vehicle's stereo system, rolled down the windows, opened the sun roof and cranked up a Pileated call. A pair came in immediately and flew all around the car looking for another bird. It seemed to be a territorial thing as they were agitated. I frequently use my phone to get birds to expose themselves. It beats pishing. It's also helpful to identify birds you can hear but can't see.

Guess I should post a pic of something. How about a shot of the lake where I called in the Pileateds. See if you can spot the cormorants.
