I seldom root my Brugs in water, I much prefer soil. If I do start mine in water, I plant them in soil as soon as they start putting out real roots. There is a difference between roots growing in soil and water roots. If you grow lots of roots in water they will die back when potted in soil and will have to start growing new roots.

A lot of time I want to get the most out of a cutting so I cut them in pieces 3" to 4" long and pot them in 6-packs. I like them in small pots so I can make sure they do not stay too wet. This is the season that most people share cuttings because they are cutting their Brugs back to take them inside. This is not the best time to root, Brugs like it to be a little warmer when rooting, so bottom heat helps. As you can see I have had good success in rooting them this way;
