evelyn_inthegarden wrote: Dawn ~ I used to have a beautiful pyracantha called 'Cherry Berry'. It was a stunning clear deep red. The deer ate it on a regular basis, even with spraying, so I gave it to my neighbor. This was before the fenced garden area as our property is 12 acres and we cannot afford to fence it all. So, no pyracantha. Inside the fence we have veggies and 3 mixed borders: The Dark Side Garden, The White Flower border, and the new "Cottage Flower" border. Dave ~ Sorry about that mishap with the pyracantha! Ouch! Did you get any feather pots?? Lee ~ You must be all ready for the hobgoblins and munchkins....it is Martha Stewart's favorite holiday, and I suppose many people that like to do crafts and have an eye for details love it as well....Happy Halloween...Dia de los muertos.... oh, what is an SPV?? Dawn ~ Do you get trick or treaters at your place? We do not, so years ago Steve used to hand candy out at the PO and donate some to the local church, well, that is what he told me anyway. I notice he would always include requests for some of his favorites...LOL! It got up to 52° today, and probably won't freeze tonight. If it is not too wet tomorrow, I will dig out some basil for you. Anyone else? I do not usually send any plants now until spring, but I had rather have someone use these instead of just making compost with them. (You want something "herby"??) Do you not use basil in cooking? My neighbor does not, well one of my neigbors anyway. The other one across the road does so I gave her basil plus a plant, too. Sharon ~ How is everything at your place? I am supposed to be working and I am but took a short break to test the internet connection as well as the phone line. It seems to work pretty well for the laptop, but still not on the desktop. HP does try my patience, as usually I am very patient, especially when motivated to achieve a goal. I just continue until the conclusion is either successful or impossible. I hope that Vern is doing well....and you too! JB ~ Sorry to learn of the plight of your Aimees. I hope they can be saved. Merry ~ Sorry I did not send you any creeping phlox. I just have a small amount and may have to get more from Dave. Probably would be better in spring anyway. I really would like to have more as I have a lot of ground to cover in the "landscaped areas", as well as the flower borders. Do you have a "Haunted House" for the ghoulies in your neighborhood? Maybe you and Lee could enter a contest.....we don't get any children here as it is rural here and the houses are not near the road like in the cities. They usually go to Halloween parties at the local churches and schools in our area. Well, it is almost time for dinner, so I will sign off for now. I really did not think I would be back so soon, and I might be gone for a while again, just to try and fix the other computer...I am not looking forward to calling HP. Dave what do you suggest? Just tell them to fix it without asking me any questions or making me take the d@*#& thing apart again?? I will do what I can...I might have to wait until Monday, but that's OK since I have at least one working. (Anyone have any spare ajuga 'Burgundy Glow'?) |
