It rained again and actually the very loud thunder and bright lightening kept me awake for most of the night. My husband slept through most of it. It was such a change if it did that every night, I would probably sleep through it as well. And yes, Jeanette, I would not like to live where it rains most of the time. It is just so dry all summer here that it is a big change for us. It is actually wet outside! My husband wanted to moved to the PNW a couple years ago until the housing slump. Now our property isn't worth so much. I would still rather be here and visit cooler places rather than live in a cooler/colder place.

Here is a picture of the "cottage garden" border as of two days ago. I am hoping for more filled in by next year. The Russell lupines have survived the summer, well, most of them anyway. If anyone is interested, I can post a list of contents, so far....
