I finally talked her into planting luffa so it could grow over it .. she did, but would not cut off the tops of the plants when they were about 2 feet high so the secondaries would start growing. It ended up rather sparse, but where it is thick it's quite pretty. The extra added attraction is that you get luffa gourds in the fall you can make into luffa sponges.
