The co-chair for the ABS convention last year (who had her yard as one of the tours) said even though they had a couple of frosts this winter, did not do a lot of damage to her hundreds of begonias in the yard and most came back with a fury and bloomed up a storm.

I would seek out your nearest ABS branch(es) in your area and see how other members care for their begonias in winter.
