Elphaba, the Cardinal juvie is cute. Is the Cowbird Juvie bigger than its adopted sibling at this stage? Human can learn from these birds how to love unconditionally, can't we? LOL.

indeed. It's hard to imagine having being outdoor this time of year without a camera to capture some of nature wonderful "news" out there. Your Grackle at the bath is looking refreshing. The about to be Papa Robin is one confident papa-to-be!

Hack, I don't mind at all when my pictures can be editted to improve its appearance. BTW, kingbirds are slightly larger than the phoebes. Their tails don't bob up and down (when they perch like the phoebes do) and theirs (tails) has a white strip on its tips. I happened on one of the Kingbirds' nest last week. The nest was built by a small winding creek by couple hundred yards from the Eagles' nest. So I surmise they hunt for small fish and crawlfish, tadpoles and the likes? In regard to Common Grackles siblings rivalry--it happens in the bird's world too, doesn't it? LOL
