This next set is on the Mallard Duck family. I spotted these while the Robbin above was following me. At first they were shy and would not let me get to close; they'd hide around these boulders in the water but after awhile they realized I was not threat and allowed me to capture some family shots. These photos were also taken at Theodore Roosevelt Island.

First image is Pops keeping a close eye on me from a far while the family was resting. It's amazing how their natural instincts is similar to ours (humans) when rearing a family. I enjoyed watching how he and the mother interacted with the each other and the little ones; it was clear though who wore the pants (he did...smile)
