Plantladylin, I like your singing cardinal. The shrike was singing too, but I just couldn't capture it! I've seen the waxwings out in the country but not at my house until now. I think they came by to see if the Mulberries were ripe yet. It's amazing how they remember stuff.

Rose, 80s here too. The butterflies have been by looking for my pentas which froze this year. They seemed so amazed that the pentas were gone. I just went and picked up some but it will take a while for them to fill in the way they used to be.

This pic might be a bit blurry. I can't tell for sure b/c I can't really see anymore. He was being very vocal. I thought it was a cormorant b/c it was so dark, but now I think it must an Anhinga - bill shape, tail length, yellow on the feet - what do you think?
