I love the winterhazels in general, and have a really hard time chosing a favorite, but I think that this would be my pick, and I would say that it is a "must have" if you have the room. It's flowers aren't quite as pretty and pendulous as some, but it is the earliest in my yard, and the foilage is lovely with a red edge to the leaves, and fall color is nice as well. Simply a wonderful shrub.
