Theresa - that IS a small world. But I guess not so surprising if she was Brian's teacher before he moved to Ottawa to study. So glad she liked the performance. And I agree, questionable wrist or not, I didn't want to miss my last chance ever (most likely) to play the Bartók. Concerto for Orchestra doesn't come up all that often. (Only twice for me).

On the page that I termed the 4th finger etude (attached), the conductor kept telling us to play softer; so I stopped practicing it (it DID bother the wrist). I played the beginning and end and air-bowed the harry part in the middle which didn't feel good on the wrist. And then concentrated on nailing the loud part at the bottom of the page.

My handbells played this morning in church and really did a wonderful job. A bright, snappy arrangement of Standin' in the Need of Prayer with clarinet. Our congregation is usually pretty good about NOT applauding during worship but they couldn't contain themselves on this one. We also had a couple of kids dancing in the aisles. I may not have pointed you folks here to the soundclip for this piece, but there is one at: http://www.handbellworld.com/music/MusicPiece.cfm?piece=1225... Just click on the yellow bell.

Glad to hear that Carol is improving. Waving to everyone else ~~~~~

Making cranberry-orange marmalade this afternoon and I need to get back at it.
