Aha, I hadn't even noticed that the Mockingbird in the shrubs was the same one from earlier that had been perched in a tree. So, there is something wrong with the beak! I thought it looked like it was broken but then I thought it might be my eyes. I took a bunch of pic's of Mockingbirds today, let me look more closely and see if I find any with whole beaks!

Nope, every one I took today in that area was the same Mockingbird with the injured/broken beak. I thought it was in the shrubbery because there's an Asparagus sprengeri fern growing up in that area and the Mockingbirds love the berries. He/she looks pretty healthy so I don't think the broken beak is deterring it from eating. I'm going to watch for it again tomorrow.
