What would cause a chicken that's been laying normal size eggs so far to lay one like this? Even the first eggs we got from the chickens were nowhere near this small size.

You know what's wierd about this? I think this is from the chicken that was laying the jumbo eggs with the calcium on them. For the past 2-3 days, there has been no calcium and they have been the same size as what the other chickens are laying (similar to large eggs you'd buy at the store). The reason I think it's from that chicken, is that was the only chicken laying the slightly darker color eggs. There had been two laying that color but for a number of weeks, there has only been one.

So why the sudden peewee?
