The real sad part (in my opinion) is we humans have had a hand in causing so many problems with nature and now we are paying for it with all these unusual weather conditions around the planet.

I have my unheated Florida room (enclosed porch) crammed full of plants to hopefully protect them somewhat from the cold temp's.
