Beginning of September I planted them in a container and only 3 weeks later the foliage began to appear, which I found strange but thought might be normal for this specie I'm not familiar with.. But then in the second half of November I saw the first signs of buds appearing..??? Sure enough, the first bud opened at the end of November and now nearly half of the 20 bulbs are in bloom. The weather has been exceptionally mild, even didn't had a light frost yet, not normal for my zone, right now it is 10°C!! I have a bit mixed feelings about it though, their friendly little faces are more than welcome in this dark period of the year, but then they sure must be confused probably thinking it is spring! I can only hope it won't harm them to bloom at this 'wrong' time. Until now they do look very healthy and happy..:) |
