Years ago I had nice schist walkways but when I got here we couldn't afford them. So I used straw paths. But I marked where I wanted to put a short wall with serpentine grace. If it weren't snowing out so heavy, I'd go and take a pic of the string of small rocks that I can only see from the end of the season to spring.
