I had grown tired of the sort of standard coleus mix that seemed to be in all the nurseries, the pink/purple/green combinations, and had not been including it in my pots. As with many other types of plants you have to go online to explore the fabulous variety that different plant breeders have developed. This year I had more varieties of coleus this year than ever - some pots with just coleus combinations, some with other plants. The nurseries are beginning to offer more and I always look for new ones. All plants were pest free, easy to manage with pinching, and always colorful. Here is another one that just got better as it got older - Sedona. This is late summer when the plant absolutely glowed with color. This picture was right after we had some heavy winds and it got a little banged up. |
