Would love to have seen a frontal shot, but the legs do look pencil thin and the tail has a squared off look to it, and I don't see much white on the tips of the tail feathers, (going by field guide) which states very slight difference's. I am posting a picture from Sunday of a Sharp-shinned Hawk, this bird was noticeably smaller than the Cooper's Ive seen. In 2008 in a neighbor's yard there were a pair of Cooper's who raised four chicks, and I was able to observe on a daily basis, the nest is still there (and deteriorating) but they did not return this year, only had a crappy camcorder to take pictures with but am posting one of those also. |
