This little female was after the last of the bean's flowering.
They were in there most of the summer. Got to get me red-flowering beans
like I saw in the contest photos-- don't know much about them.
Up the fence is the last of the hollyhocks, things are winding down as the
nights are long and colder. Was a great season for them and hope they aren't too
spoiled. Huckleberries and soapwort are blooming and mahonia is almost ready to give them
more flower power: sage. hyssop and salvia are thin and cape fuchsia declining. Time to be
cooking up that sugar water and designing a better hummingbird warmer than last year.
