I heard a funny noise in the kitchen just now and tracked it down to the corner where the dog crate sits with dog food on top. The noise again made me look up at the window and I saw what you see ( badly) in the pic. Its the underside of the tail of Northern Red Tail Flicker! Clinging to the top of the window frame and pecking away at something. There have been a lot of both Red and Yellow flickers around recently. A few weeks ago there was a whole flock of young ones pecking around on my grass.

This one flew away before I had a chnce to try for a better pic.
