Is anybody else starting to harvest their fall seeds? Been cutting down swiss chard, beets, broccoli, and celery. Putting aside a few squash. Gathering dried seed heads from the leeks, onions, and parsnips. And getting the empty veggie areas ready for fall/winter crops. I might even try and squeeze in one more row of snow peas. I think they'll have just enough time to produce before it gets too cold.
Last year, I let my violas go to seed and they came up everywhere in the backyard, it was wonderful. This January, I planted six varieties in the front yard which have since gone to seed and new little crosses are coming up everywhere. Looks like pollen from the backyard made it into the front yard. It's going to be interesting.
