We'd have races and she'd beat me until I got into 2nd gear! She understood commands in 3 languages and hand signals as well. She used to herd the kids in the neighborhood too and they didn't like it. I remember getting up one morning and discovered she had herded 4 palmetto bugs into a corner! She was also a frisbee champion 4 years in a row. The herding instinct is so strong in these dogs it's uncanny. If you've ever see BC puppies "discover" the sheep you'll never forget it. The first time they are introduced, they run around playing then all of a sudden, like a light bulb turning on they "see" the sheep. They freeze, drop into the BC crouch and instantly know what to do. Here's a picture of her herding the lawnmower. X |
