I watched the male actually stab his beak at the females neck this morning when she was feeding. He also flew up to her and hit her with his chest. Both males are extremely aggressive. I think the males are even trying to get rid of us. Me and my husband took turns sitting on the steps in front of the feeders and the males would zoom by us so close we thought they were going to hit us. And they'd fly up to our face with their tail feathers fanned out, making a very loud buzzing sound. Like they were trying to intimidate us.
