Such a nice peaceful day today, cool and cloudy, worked at trimming back a large dogwood so I could get around one of the veggie garden walks and tying up all the branches for garbage day. ( NO compostable collections here yet darn it!) A fellow hort. member dropped by for some plants, Fancy dug up a couple of potatoes , organized the rescue stuff in my basement ( it is going to somebody else next week) read a book, Sounds rather busy but it was quite leisurely! Even did a couple of loads of laundry .Has been raining gently for a couple of hours.
Had new potatoes and chard for supper. I have several new types( to me) of potatoes this year. Currently eating Viking - very nice, will grow it again. There is a seed potato farm near here where you can buy seed potatoes in 'foursums' - 4 of any type which makes it easy to experiment. I also have Banana which I grew last year, Norland and Bintji which I have not tried yet.
