When a pondless stream is designed --depending on the width and depth of the stream and the length of the stream --- and the number of waterfalls.... you have to make sure you provide a reservoir for water sufficient enough to run the water feature. Evaporation can really become a pain causing a drop in the water level which shuts down the pump. We didn't have that knowlege/info and so we started with a pondless stream....that eventually ended up with a 'pond' and all the upkeep that comes with it. The ponds on this site are beautiful and the folks posting are very knowlegeable -- and I think worth every bit of the trouble, but if you are seeking info on a pondless feature --I am assuming that you don't want a pond or the upkeep. |
