When I was in Papua New Guinea I came across these large Alocasia portei which has seed. I'd already got seed from another (I think) Alocasia back up in the mountains, but didn't have a clue which specie because it was pretty battered and little other than the seed pod remained. Seeing as Alocasia seeds aren't a prohibited import here but they have to be clean, I proceeded to clean them all to bring back home.

At home after planting the seeds in pots (100mm), a little research suggested that they shouldn't have been cleaned as it makes them unviable. So I thought, "too late anyway, let's see what happens". Put them in the bathroom as we're in winter and being shut in will keep the edge off the lower temps and keep the humidity higher.
