DonnieBrook wrote: Hi Robin. No......but I did order the two "Dancing in the Rain" hostas from Made in the Shade Gardens. I planted them today in our new garden where I have housed all the neat plants I got from Kathy's RU. We had a huge dump truck dump a load of loam yesterday. Boy was that a lot of dirt!!! It took both of us most of the day to move it to the areas where we needed it. They dumped 2/3 of it right next to the where we were going to do the new garden, but moving it even 10 feet was quite a job. We enlisted the aid of Lydia, our tractor to move 6 buckets of it to a low area in our front yard. Hank will do a low stone wall in front of the two sides of the garden, but for now the plants are all in. The only plants I had to buy were the 2 Dancing in the Rain hostas. Besides the RU plants, we liberated a gorgeous mountain laurel that was a gift many years ago, as well as a white azalea that was a memorial gift when my Mom died. Both were getting very choked, and they now look great in the new garden. Then I moved some other astilbe, columbine and bleeding hearts to add to the blue columbine from Harper and the lamium, and RU baby hostas. I still have to move Kathy's Japanese fern into this garden, along with some caladiums when they come up. Here's a halfway-done shot.....before any wall is added. |
