Then they would sell them at easter time for kids. I'm surprised as many survived as did.
The Poor chicks :(....People didn't know how to take care of them, so I'm sure the majority of them died :(
Most of the people that I knew that got them lived in town, and I lived in the country. So when they no longer wanted them, they would ask if we would take them.
One year I ended up taking in 6 and the following year, I bought 2 because I knew I would be getting at least one more if not more, and that year I ended up with 7.
I don't think they are allowed to do it anymore here.

And guess what? They did a great job of sexing them back then, because they were all roosters!
