Welcome, LH! This is a great crowd here. You are not very far from me. Looks like you're a daylily nut like I am. I have over 900 different cultivars. Would you like to come to my RU July 19th? It's during peak daylily bloom! Here's a link to my RU thread: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/948734/ I have sold DL's on the LA and eBay both, and you're right, it's a lot of work. More than it's worth, IMO. I have been using a product that contains something called spinosad on the lily beetles and caterpillars here, and it's been working great. I'll bet it will work on the Jap. beetles, too. It kills any bugs that chew on the plants that are sprayed, and it's organic. It's called Monterey Garden Insect Spray http://www.planetnatural.com/site/monterey-garden-insect.htm... . I will be trying it on them as soon as the appear at my place.
