Val and I retired to this lovely quiet spot a year ago. We are working hard to make a garden but will have to grow almost everything from seed as the price of established plants is over our budget. I built a seed starter with under heat and lights and this combined with the greenhouse enabled us to start a large number of perennials this year. The soil is very fertile but has a high clay content. I have had to install drainage channels and add lots of manure to the soil. Fortunately being a farming area manure was not hard to get.

Friday is forecast to be a wet day but they say Saturday will be sunny. We will take Bulwinkle and the boys to the Annapolis Royal historic gardens and other attractions in the area.
