On a different note, this is my all time favorite hydrangea, H.serrata 'Miyama yae murasaki', also known as Purple Tiers. This picture does not do it justice, it's very lovely and graceful with the most beautiful blooms. For some reason this year it's blooming in purple, violet and pink. Usually it's just a bright purple.
