I first thought some kind of aphid ... but they fly quickly when disturbed, and are very active crawling around the petals of the blooms .. not sitting still like aphids. I have been unable to identify them. We have had so much rain that the garden never dries out ... and I'm thinking it has something to do with that. Any ideas? This photo is magnified many times.
