Ok...so shoot me...I finally caved and despite my consistent ability to murder potted gardenias (not be be confused with the babies that thrive in my front yard) I purchased a Gardenia Tree...have no earthly idea the cultivar...yet. But they had that special (Nery you signed up) that if you sign up for their "gardening club" (it's free) they have a buy one house plant get the other (same price or less) for free. I signed up in the store and took my "sign up card" with me to the cashier...and whhha laaa. TWO 3' Gardenia Trees full of buds for $33. Becky will get one and the other stays in my house awaiting her death sentence. I'm really gonna try this time to keep this one alive. Put her in my bathroom until outside temps warm up a bit - so she'll have plenty of humidity - and light from window (although facing North - north-east). Ya'll cross your fingers for me...as you can imagine - my bathroom smells like a slice of heaven!!! Not to mention the lighting in the morning is perfect...for photos at least.
