I have planted strep leaves both ways, sections and with the midrib removed. With the midrib removed, a baby pops up at every vein. You get a lot more but I don't need that many. I'm sure commercial growers use this method.

Using the base of the leaf does not require any stem.

Bristol's Paw Print on the right. It is more purple in person.
