wrote: susan I do love that gate! It is really a nice one. Nice photo, too. To be brief: I am ready for some warmer weather here. Sofer- I thought M theory was already out dated. I thought there were at least 12 dimensions, not 11 (see F theory). But in practical terms, there are likely an unlimited number of dimensions, just as the universe is unlimited. These theories are man's way of trying to catch up his mind to what he already knows in other ways. The universe is unlimited. There is no way at this time in this particular dimension to either confirm or deny M theory or F theory because our science, by its nature, exists in a world of duality - things either exist or they don't, you either confirm them or deny them, and these theories exist beyond that line of thinking. It's amazing the creative thinking that goes into these theories. Then they find a mathematical formula that works with the theory. Quite beyond me, I'm sure! I would hate to have to be the one that tried to prove in this world of duality something that is well beyond the world of duality. But the day is coming! And I heartily look forward to it. What we used to think of as 'magic' will be explained in the world of quantum physics. But that doesn't make it less magical. I think a useful metaphor is the following: Say that the universe is like a shopping mall with many levels, only a few of which are accessible to people in this time, space, and dimension. At the lowest level is the smallest, least stocked 7-11 store. The people who shop there believe that is all that is available. They go there because it is the easiest place to get to and requires little effort on their part. Even if they are not satisfied with it, they look no further. They do not even see the escalators directly in front of their eyes. Then there are the next couple of levels that are similar to a strip mall. A few more possibilities are available, but in general, not a good selection of goods. The people who shop there are aware that there are stores down on the 7-11 level, but they generally don't choose to go there, having discovered the escalators long ago. They, too, are unaware that there are many other levels above and do not see the access to them. Next you have the Bellevue square level (even though this is not about money). The people who shop there frequently go down a few levels and then come back up at will. They shop several levels, which allows them more flexibility and they can almost always find what they need or want. They might even tell people at the 'regular mall' level about what is available to them on the upper floor, but the regular mall customers just think they are crazy. At the top is the store of unlimited possibilities. There is no 'store' per se, it's just a big open space with 'nothing' in it. The people who go to that level create what they need from that 'open space' and are perfectly contented and happy. They have access to all of the other levels but why would they want to go there? They don't even have to leave their home to 'go' to that store. That store is beyond physical existence. They just send their conscious selves there and ask for what they need, creating it themselves. Anyone who happens to venture up to that space and isn't really ready to be there simply sees 'nothingness' and decides that the people who told them all the wonderful tales about that top floor were just crazy. How can there be a store there if there is nothing there? They just don't get it. They still exist in a world of duality. They believe there is either something there, or there is not. They cannot imagine that there is everything there, and nothing there at the same time. The truth is that any person can shop at any floor. But they have to open their minds to other ways of knowing and being in order to do so. And I'm sure all of this is completely boring to many people. Back to gardening. Which I will have little opportunity for this coming week. Oh, and I was 'buzzed' by a merlin yesterday. Evidently he has discovered the bird feeder.
