For me, the surest sign that summer is drawing to a close is when the Rainbow Bee Eaters start heading north. I was at the Osprey nest yesterday afternoon and although there was no Osprey action, there were dozens of these beautiful birds swarming and feasting on bees. Lots of young ones amongst them still being fed. It will be interesting to see if they're still there today or if it was just an overnight resting point before heading off again.
