I am sad to tell you that I lost my MaCrea Roundhead roo the Monday before Christmas. He did not show any signs of illness or distress. He was eating and drinking fine. Strutting around like only a big game cock can. When I checked on him just after dark to change his water, he was sitting in the bottom of his pen. It looked like he had just sat down, put his head on the ground and went to sleep. I was devastated. Me and DGS cried like babies. We called DH at work and cried over the phone. It was a very hard night. Charlie was such a beautiful rooster and he loved to be handled.
