Investigation of damask roses marketing problems:
A case study in Kashan Region

Abstract
This Study was done to determine the problems of marketing channels of damask roses and introducing appropriate solutions to increase the marketing efficiency. Results of this study revealed that the rose market in the both of traditional and industrial production was inefficient. Efficiency index was 92.9 percent for traditional products and 55 percent for industrial ones. In addition, regarding to the marketing parameters for each of them, the factors share was calculated. Due to results, reducing units have the most important roles. In reducing units, traditional units with 47.2 percent had greater share in comparison with industrial units (%44.5). Also the results show that production, retailer, wholesalers and middlemen shares were in the lower ranks respectively. Marketing cost coefficient results showed that 70 percent of retailer soling price in one kg of product in related to marketing costs. In industrials units, these costs were 67.7 and 65.4 percent in high and low capacity units respectively.
