Becky, I'll check out the Kousas and see what's on them. I have a few small ones if you want to day trip to Atlanta and dig one. I'm not sure what their habit is, but we had one go down a few years ago and I'm still trying to figure out if it seeded or if it rooted a bunch of young'uns off its base. The people in the NE can grow Kousa, but not our Cornus florida.

Oh, Nicole, I am pining for the summer veggie garden while still planting gifts from the RU. There must be a "farmer" gene in me somewhere. :) It was a hard day dragging all those mushy tomato vines off to their final resting place yesterday. I've turned DD's empty nest bedroom into a clearing house for drying herbs and ripening tobascos. This is what's on the floor.
